Our veterinarians and staff provide a wide range of services including diagnostic testing and medical care of sick animals, wellness exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and a full range of surgical and dental services. We provide care for cats, dogs, birds, and pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc.) We offer an on-site laboratory, digital whole body and dental x-rays and surgical suite. We provide ultrasounds on a scheduled basis and have a collaborative relationship with offsite specialists with whom we can instantly share test results and digital x-rays. https://chestnutstreetah.com/    Veterinary Technician   Chestnut Street Animal Hospital in Needham, MA    $26.00 an hour (flexibility based on experience)   The ideal schedule will be 34 hours on Tues-Fri, no weekends! WHAT YOU’LL DO     Assisting the Doctors in appointments  Take patient histories from clients for appointments  Technician appointments Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage, etc.)  Communicating with clients via phone and in-person  Executing treatment orders, canine and Feline vaccine knowledge and schedule   Demonstrate excellent relations with clients/pets in waiting and/or exam rooms  Prepares patient files and charts   Answers client’s inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures   Educates clients on over-the-counter products such as flea and tick preventions   Receives and relays telephone, fax, and email messages accurately and promptly   Maintain accuracy with cash drawer, credit card-scratch pay and CareCredit transactions  This position requires the ability to sit, walk, squat, bend, stand, reach, lift and type  Monitor anesthesia for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures   Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures, including injections, oral medications, blood draws, basic pharmacology and bandaging   This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, detail-oriented, enjoys teamwork, and thrives in a small-practice setting where your contributions truly make a difference.  Our Comprehensive benefit package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance  401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment  Generous paid time off and flexible scheduling  Continuing education allowance and professional development support  Mental Health Resources  Company paid bonding leave or applicable state provided bonding leave  Perks for Your Pets Too! Because we know how much your pets mean to you, we offer special benefits designed just for them: Pet Care: Discounts on veterinary services and products  Diagnostics: Savings on reference lab testing  Nutrition: Discounts on Purina pet foods  Insurance: Preferred rates with our pet insurance partner   REQUIREMENTS     High school diploma or equivalent Proficient in dentals and anesthesia and sedation monitoring as well as rooms Experienced Veterinary Technician – CVT preferred, but open to highly skilled, well-rounded technicians regardless of credentialing Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is a purpose-driven team that places talent first by supporting professionals to thrive in our industry and empowering hospital teams to provide exceptional care for pets and their owners.
