This full-time overnight Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech looking to use advanced clinical skills, manage complex cases, and continue growing in emergency and specialty medicine. Join a collaborative 24/7 emergency animal hospital where your technical skills, critical thinking, and commitment to patient care make an impact every shift.Compensation $28–$36/hour, pending skill set +$5/hour shift differential for hours worked between 11:00pm–7:00am Up to $5,000 retention bonus pending skill level & credentialing Half paid at 6 months and half paid at 1 year Full-Time Benefits: Continuing Education & Uniform Allowance + Free VetBloom access (RACE-approved CE) CVT/LVT/RVT license reimbursement RECOVER Training for advanced CPR skills Veterinary Technician Education Sponsorships + VTNE reimbursement + VTS Support 16-Week VTNE Study Group Professional Development Assistance PTO + Employee Pet Discount Access exclusive financial benefits to help you save on student loans, mortgages, and personal loans NVA Pet Resort Discount + Pet Insurance Discount Medical, Dental, Vision + HSA/FSA Options Insurance Options: Life and AD&D + Short & Long-Term Disability + Critical Illness + Accident + Hospital Indemnity 401(k) with employer match Employee Assistance Program Referral Bonuses + Potential for a bi-annual bonus tied to hospital performance Schedule Overnights: Wednesday–Friday, 7:00pm–7:00am Responsibilities Triage incoming emergency patients and assist with prioritizing care based on clinical condition Obtain patient histories and perform initial patient assessments Provide hands-on nursing care for hospitalized and critically ill patients in the ICU Assist doctors with diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures Assist with and monitor sedated procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory sample collection Monitor anesthesia and sedation and support patients through recovery Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed Assist with diagnostic imaging and in-house laboratory testing Closely monitor hospitalized and critical patients, recognizing and communicating changes in patient status Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient and client care Collaborate closely with ER clinicians, specialists, and support teams across departments Qualifications Veterinary Technician experience required Emergency veterinary or critical care experience strongly preferred CVT, RVT, or LVT credentials preferred Strong technical skills including patient assessment, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and nursing care Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient in a fast-paced emergency setting Strong communication skills with clients and team members Positive, collaborative, team-first mindset Passion for emergency medicine and continued professional growth Fluent English speaking and reading skills required Why Boston West?
