We are a 3 doctor General Practice who sees small mammals located in Falmouth, MA. We are a constantly learning and always evolving group. Falmouth sits on the Upper Cape, where weekends mean beaches, sailing, and the Shining Sea Bikeway, not traffic. Woods Hole's marine science scene is minutes away, Boston about 75, and Martha's Vineyard a quick ferry. Veterinary Surgical Technician Vista Veterinary Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated part-time Veterinary Surgical Technician to join our growing team! We are a busy, progressive small animal general practice dedicated to providing exceptional medicine, outstanding client service, and compassionate patient care. What You'll Do As our Surgical Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every procedure is performed safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include: Prepare patients for surgery, including catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, clipping, and sterile surgical preparation. Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia. Continuously monitor vital signs and respond appropriately throughout surgical procedures. Assist veterinarians during routine and advanced soft tissue and dental procedures. Maintain sterile technique and surgical instrument preparation. Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography (preferred). Administer medications and treatments as directed. Provide exceptional post-operative nursing care and pain management. Educate clients on surgical procedures and post-operative care instructions. Maintain accurate medical records and anesthesia logs. Help maintain surgical equipment, anesthesia machines, and the operating suite. We're Looking For Someone Who: Has 2+ years of veterinary technician experience (surgical experience preferred). Is proficient in anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery. Has strong venipuncture and IV catheter placement skills. Is confident with laboratory procedures and radiology. Works well under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Has excellent communication and teamwork skills. Is dependable, positive, and eager to continue learning. CVT/RVT/LVT certification is preferred but experienced technicians are encouraged to apply.
