About the Area

This position is for an Associate Veterinarian with a strong interest in surgery. It offers the opportunity to develop and expand the surgery department within a general practice setting, initially starting with one day per week. Surgical responsibilities include soft tissue procedures, dental care, and advanced dental treatments.

Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO - Deliver compassionate, attentive care to our pet patients and their families - Maintain accurate, detailed medical records in line with hospital policies - Prepare and keep exam rooms and treatment areas clean and organized - Perform thorough physical assessments and document your findings - Prepare procedure estimates and clearly communicate financial responsibilities with clients - Provide clear explanations for necessary follow-up care and home instructions - Keep treatment areas and exam rooms well-stocked; notify inventory manager when supplies run low - Assist Veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including blood draws, anesthesia administration, patient monitoring during surgery and recovery, and fluid administration - Manage surgical materials and ensure the operating room is fully prepared and stocked for procedures - Handle pharmacy tasks, following protocols for dispensing in-house medications - Monitor patient vitals both manually and with equipment - Collect and process samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing - Communicate proactively within the team, advocating for the best care of your patients BENEFITS We’re dedicated to supporting your growth and well-being—both professionally and personally.
