Job Description

Veterinary Technician (Licensed or Experienced) Andover Animal Hospital – Andover, MA Pay: $18-24/hr DOE Let’s be honest—some hospitals say they’re “busy” and mean a couple of appointments stacked together. That’s not us. Andover Animal Hospital is a genuinely high-volume, fast-moving, well-oiled (most days) machine with a team of 10+ veterinarians and a deep bench of skilled technicians and assistants who know how to keep things running. It’s the kind of place where you’ll use your skills constantly, learn something new without trying, and never wonder if your day made a difference. We held an AAHA-accreditation for years—consistently holding ourselves to a higher standard of medicine—and that shows in how we practice, collaborate, and support each other. We also keep things interesting. While we see plenty of dogs and cats, exotics are a big part of our world too. If you like variety (and the occasional curveball patient), you’ll fit right in. And yes—the building is a little quirky. It’s got character. We’ve made it work, and honestly, it’s part of the charm. Why you might actually like working hereThis is a team that shows up for each other. It’s busy, but it’s not chaotic for the sake of chaos—there’s structure, experience, and a shared understanding that good medicine takes teamwork. You won’t be the only one hustling, and you won’t be left figuring things out alone. There’s a strong support staff, a collaborative doctor team, and people who genuinely enjoy what they do (most days… we’re still in vet med). Who you areYou’re either licensed or bring solid hands-on experience as a veterinary technician, and you’re looking for a place where you can actually use your skills. You’re comfortable in a fast-paced environment, but you don’t cut corners. You like being part of a team that communicates, jumps in when needed, and keeps things moving. Bonus points if you enjoy variety—because between companion animals and exotics, no two days here look the same. What you’ll be doing (the real version)You’ll be in the mix—supporting appointments, assisting with procedures and surgery, monitoring anesthesia, handling diagnostics, and helping keep the day on track. This is not a “stand in the corner” role. You’ll be trusted, relied on, and expected to contribute. Schedule & flowWe’re busy, but we believe in keeping things sustainable. Expect a structured schedule, a team that respects your time, and a pace that keeps the day moving without feeling endless. Benefits (the good, straightforward kind) Medical, dental, and vision insurance (effective the first of the month after your start date) 401(k) with company match after 6 months Company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Referral bonus program Employee pet care discount PTO United Veterinary Care provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, age, mental disability, physical disability, medical condition, gender, sexual orientation, genetic information, ancestry, marital status, national origin, veteran status, and other classifications protected by applicable state and local non-discrimination laws. #ind12
