A trusted small animal hospital in Topeka, KS is seeking a Medical Director to lead its dedicated clinical team! For over 30 years, this community-focused practice has cared for generations of local pets, building lasting client relationships through compassionate service and modern medicine. The hospital is looking for a veterinarian ready to guide its medical direction while continuing to enjoy hands-on clinical work. As Medical Director, you will lead a team of two associate veterinarians and five fantastic veterinary technicians, supported by an in-house groomer and a loyal support team. Several team members have been with the hospital for well over a decade, creating a close, family-like atmosphere where collaboration and respect come naturally. The caseload is broad and rewarding, covering wellness and preventive care, diagnostics, dentistry, routine and soft tissue surgery, pain management, and nutrition counseling. The hospital also offers grooming and boarding, which supports strong client loyalty and a steady flow of patients. Your role will balance patient care with leadership. You will set clinical standards, mentor both early career and experienced veterinarians, introduce new services and protocols, and work closely with hospital leadership on long-term growth.
