Job Description

Gateway Veterinary Clinic is looking for a full-time experienced veterinary technician to join our busy 8 doctor practice. Our ideal candidate is a compassionate, dependable, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude who can multi-task efficiently and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. Your daily responsibilities will include patient handling and care, client communication and service, surgery monitoring and procedures, laboratory procedures, and hospital cleanliness. Requirements: At least two years of relevant experience working as a technician in a small-animal veterinary hospital or clinic. - Proficient in anesthetic monitoring utilizing multiparameter monitors, surgical preparation, patient recovery, and documentation. - Experience in blood collection, IV catheter placement, administering SQ, IM and IV injections. - Experience obtaining digital radiographs using x-ray equipment and personal protective equipment. - Experience performing dental prophylaxis, dental radiographs and charting oral pathology (preferred but not required) - Ability to follow written and verbal treatment plans. - Strong communication skills with interpersonal and client-service expertise. - Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based upon the needs of our clients. - Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fluctuating environment. - Competent computer skills. - Compassion and a positive can-do attitude. - General understanding of veterinary terminology and abbreviations.
