Certified Veterinary Technician

Tender Care Animal Hospital in Peoria, Illinois is seeking an experienced Lead Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians. In this position, you will take an active role in: Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion Responsibilities include: Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assisting in surgery Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule and compensation: Compensation:$18 - $25 per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time position, with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday. Saturdays are on rotation. Full-time Benefits Package*: Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Illinois.
