Full job description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians and staff in providing exceptional animal care and client service. This role involves hands-on animal handling, assisting with medical procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment. Candidates with experience in pet care, kennel work, or veterinary clinics are highly encouraged to apply. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and other exotics in a fast-paced clinical setting. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff Administer medications and vaccines under supervision of licensed veterinarians Blood draws. IV catheter placement, vaccine/medication injections Performing laboratory tests, sample collection, and basic diagnostics Perform x-rays and in house labwork on Idexx equipment Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and surgical suites Assist with pet intake and discharge, including scheduling appointments and managing client communications Handle various species including dogs, cats, and exotics with proper animal handling techniques Requirements Experience with medication administration, catheterization, and laboratory procedures highly desirable Ability to perform pet care duties responsibly while demonstrating compassion for animals Excellent communication skills for client and staff interaction Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail *Relevant experience such as veterinary assistant or technician experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates eager to learn*
