Scout Veterinary Care is changing the way pets receive care and empowering the teams that provide it. We are an Urgent Care exclusive practice for modern cat and dog parents. We offer same-day and next-day urgent care appointments to truly fill the gap between routine primary care and the ER. We see a wide variety of urgent appointments while being extremely clear about what we don’t do; this positions Scout to help more sick and injured pets each day while providing a fulfilling, sustainable career for professionals and being an excellent partner in our community. Our modern practices and thoughtful processes are designed to make life easier for our teams and navigating veterinary care easier for the city’s ever-growing pet population. Requirements
Scout doctors manage approximately 10-18 patients daily, with the excitement varying based on case volume. Your expertise will be challenged as you handle cases ranging from routine last-minute care to more intricate situations requiring in-house diagnostics, treatments, and nursing care. The heart of our caseload consists of true urgent care cases and stable emergencies. Scout equips our teams with all the tools needed to thoroughly assess and stabilize every patient who comes through our doors. While overnight hospitalization and major surgeries are not part of our services, minor procedures are common, adding challenge, variety, and excitement to each day. Understanding that urgent care is often just the first chapter in a pet's medical journey, Scout takes pride in empowering our doctors to seek comprehensive answers that both patients and clients deserve. We actively nurture strong relationships with referral partners to ensure our doctors have access to a wealth of resources when pets and clients need care beyond Scout's capabilities. **Responsibilities** - Deliver exceptional medical care and an outstanding customer experience - Oversee patient triage and evaluation - Provide examinations, diagnostic recommendations, and treatments for scheduled and walk-in appointments - Communicate clearly, transparently, and promptly with clients and referral partners about patient status, diagnostic and treatment plans, estimates, and follow-up care - Stabilize patients for transfer to local emergency or specialty hospitals as needed - Develop follow-up plans with patients’ primary care veterinarians when appropriate - Maintain referral relationships through ongoing communication with care partners **Schedule** - 10-hour shifts (arrive at 9:45 AM; clinic closes at 8 PM) - Open 7 days a week We’re excited to have passionate doctors join our team and make a meaningful difference every day! 🌟🐾
