Practice Overview

Veterinary Associates of Manning has been serving its Iowa community since 1954 and has remained privately owned for nearly 50 years under Dr. Rexanne Struve. Today, we’re looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our team AND potentially become part of the practice’s next chapter. This is primarily a small animal position, but our medicine doesn’t stop there. Depending on your interests, you’ll have opportunities to work with exotics, pocket pets, cattle, and even participate in specialized sow C-sections (if interested). Our facility also has the capabilities to support equine medicine for a veterinarian interested in developing that area of practice. Large animal or exotic experience is not required, curiosity and a willingness to learn are what matter.

Life in Manning Manning offers small-town living without feeling disconnected. This progressive community of approximately 1,500 features a vibrant downtown, local recreation, community events, and a cost of living that allows your salary to stretch considerably further than it would in larger cities like Des Moines or Omaha. And when you’re ready for a dose of city life, you don’t have to give it up. Des Moines and Omaha are both within easy driving distance, putting major shopping, dining, entertainment, airports, and weekend activities close enough to enjoy, without having to pay big-city housing prices every day. It’s an ideal fit for someone who wants more room to breathe, meaningful community connections, and the financial advantages of small-town living while still having access to the perks of larger cities. Come Grow With Us Whether you’re a new graduate looking for genuine mentorship, an experienced veterinarian ready for more autonomy, or someone intrigued by the possibility of practice ownership someday, we’d love to meet you! Veterinary Associates of Manning works with Blue Heron Consulting Hiring Services to manage the interview process.
