This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with access to advanced diagnostics, specialist support, and a highly skilled clinical team. About the Practice This is a well-established, high-volume emergency and specialty veterinary hospital located in Oahu serving a diverse small animal and exotic caseload. The hospital is fully equipped with advanced veterinary technology, supporting gold-standard diagnostics and treatment, including: Advanced imaging (including CT and digital radiography) Minimally invasive surgical and diagnostic equipment (laparoscopy, endoscopy, thoracoscopy) Interventional and advanced procedural tools (including lithotripsy capabilities) Continuous patient monitoring and telemetry systems Dedicated hospitalized patient care available 24/7 Hands-free radiology safety protocols AAHA-accredited standards of care The team includes emergency clinicians, board-certified specialists, and critical care support, ensuring comprehensive case management and continuity of care. Responsibilities Provide high quality emergency and urgent care for small animal and exotic patients Stabilise and manage critical and complex medical cases Work collaboratively with emergency clinicians, specialists, and support teams Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures and imaging Communicate effectively with clients regarding treatment plans and prognosis Maintain accurate and thorough medical records Participate in case discussions and contribute to a collaborative learning environment Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a motivated veterinarian who thrives in an emergency setting and is committed to high standards of care. They will have: A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree Eligibility for licensure in Hawaii (or ability to obtain it) Strong interest or experience in emergency medicine (new graduates with strong support needs may be considered depending on structure) A commitment to evidence-based medicine and ethical veterinary practice Strong communication and teamwork skills A collaborative and empathetic approach to patient and client care A desire for continuous learning and professional development Compensation & Benefits This role offers a highly competitive and comprehensive package designed to support both professional growth and personal wellbeing.
