Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center (VERC) is an advanced veterinary diagnostic and treatment center, offering the most comprehensive and progressive patient care available in the state of Hawaii.
Our new 17,250 sq ft hospital on N. Nimitz Highway features 14 exam rooms, two soft tissue and two orthopedic surgery suites, two digital radiography suites, an MRI, and a new upgraded 128-slice CT. We offer 24-hour emergency care along with critical care, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and surgery.

Surgery Veterinary Technician $22.00–$32.00/hour DOEFull-Time | Tuesday–Friday | Four-Day WorkweekVeterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC) | Honolulu, HI VERC is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team and work alongside board-certified surgeons providing advanced specialty surgical care. This is a great opportunity for a Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant with strong anesthesia and surgical skills who wants to work with complex orthopedic and soft tissue cases in a specialty hospital. Veterinary Technician credentialing is preferred but not required. What You Bring Hands-on veterinary clinical experience with a strong interest or background in Surgery and anesthesia. Experience with anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery. Confidence with anesthetic calculations, CRIs, fluid therapy, and medication administration. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and operating room protocols. Strong patient monitoring and nursing skills. Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency, Critical Care, or Specialty veterinary experience preferred. RVT, CVT, LVT, or VTS credentialing preferred but not required. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. In Your Day-to-Day, You Will Prepare patients, surgical suites, equipment, and instruments for specialty surgical procedures. Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia. Assist with orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic procedures. Provide hands-on surgical nursing care throughout the perioperative process. Calculate and administer medications, fluids, and CRIs as directed. Maintain sterile technique and assist surgeons during procedures. Monitor patients closely and respond to changes during anesthesia and recovery.
