McDonough Animal Hospital is in a suburb 40 minutes south of Atlanta. Our location is ideal for someone looking for a rural setting, but close enough to amenities such as restaurants and shopping or big city life of Atlanta without the city life headaches. McDonough, GA is just off interstate 75, making access to surrounding areas quick and easy. We sit about 3-4 hours from the nearest beach and from the North Georgia mountains, so a weekend getaway to either is attainable!

Job Description We are a busy 2-doctor hospital that operates Monday through Friday. Our team is small and values integrity, compassion and teamwork, and we are looking for someone who holds a similar moral compass. Together, the doctors and support team are dedicated to the well being of pets and the people who care for them by using clear communication skills to educate and discuss best practices and outcomes in an approachable way. Veterinary Assistants play a vital role in our hospital, the foundation of which includes a friendly attitude and a self starting mindset. Some of the daily tasks are interacting with clients and their pets, cleaning, running diagnostic equipment, assisting the doctors, record keeping, and putting away inventory. We are looking for a punctual, friendly, compassionate person to help round out our team. This position will be cross-trained to help reception, and have rotating kennel hours on some weekends - typically every 4-6 weeks. The schedule for this position is still being crafted, but will be 3 or 4 days per week, a total of 30-36 hours. General start time is 7:45am and end time is 6-6:30pm. Wednesday nights until 8pm are required. Qualifications An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator Must be able to safely and calmly restrain pets. Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring. Proficiency in Avimark and IDEXX machines preferred Attention to detail and problem solving skills Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skill set.
