Following the success of our flagship specialty and emergency hospital in Marietta, Georgia, we are expanding with the opening of our second location in Dunwoody, Georgia, in October 2026. We are currently building our founding Neurology team and seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs), and highly skilled Veterinary Assistants who are passionate about advanced medicine, specialty nursing, and providing exceptional care for complex neurologic patients. This is more than a Neurology Technician position. This is an opportunity to help establish the culture, workflows, and patient care standards for a brand-new specialty service while having the support of an established hospital and experienced veterinary leadership team. Eligible candidates with a strong background in veterinary neurology, specialty medicine, or advanced clinical care may qualify for a sign-on bonus based on experience, credentialing, and skillset: $6,000 Sign-On Bonus available for Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/RVT/CVT) with strong Neurology, Specialty, or advanced veterinary nursing experience $1,000 Sign-On Bonus available for experienced non-licensed Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants with a strong background supporting specialty medicine, neurology cases, or complex patient care Sign-on bonus eligibility is determined based on relevant specialty experience and is not available to all applicants. Your Impact as a Veterinary Neurology Technician Advanced Neurology Nursing and Patient Care As a Neurology Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and long-term management. Responsibilities include:  Assist neurologists during advanced patient evaluations and consultations   Provide nursing care for hospitalized neurologic patients   Support patients experiencing seizures, IVDD, paresis, paralysis, and other neurologic conditions   Monitor neurologic status, comfort, mobility, and treatment response   Assist with rehabilitation and recovery plans   Advocate for patients and support exceptional client communication  Advanced Anesthesia and Procedural Support Neurologic patients often require advanced monitoring and specialized care. You will:  Prepare patients for advanced diagnostics and procedures   Assist with anesthesia induction, intubation, and recovery   Monitor anesthesia utilizing:  ECG   Pulse oximetry   Capnography   Blood pressure monitoring (IBP/NIBP)   Temperature monitoring   Support advanced neurologic procedures and neurosurgical cases   Monitor high-risk patients and recognize changes in condition   Assist with ventilated patient care when applicable  Diagnostic Imaging and Specialty Diagnostics You will collaborate closely with Neurology and Imaging teams to support accurate diagnosis. Responsibilities include:  Prepare and position patients for MRI and CT procedures   Support advanced imaging workflows   Assist with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collection procedures   Ensure proper patient preparation and safety throughout diagnostics   Maintain accurate medical records and documentation  Emergency and Critical Care Collaboration Neurologic patients often require collaboration across multiple specialty services. You will work closely with:  Emergency and Critical Care teams   Surgery and Anesthesia teams   Diagnostic Imaging teams   Specialty nursing teams  Responsibilities include:  Assist with neurologic emergencies and stabilization   Recognize changes in patient status   Participate in CPR and emergency response efforts   Support continuity of care across departments  Who We're Looking For We are searching for technicians who bring technical confidence, curiosity, and a passion for specialty medicine. Required 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience  Strong foundation in veterinary nursing and patient care   Experience with:  Venipuncture   IV catheter placement   Laboratory diagnostics   Medication administration   Anesthesia monitoring   Patient monitoring   Experience in:  Emergency   Specialty   ICU   Surgery   Anesthesia   High-volume General Practice   Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment   Ability to remain calm and organized during complex cases  Preferred  LVT, RVT, or CVT credential   Previous Neurology experience   Emergency or ICU experience   Specialty referral hospital experience   MRI or CT workflow experience   Advanced anesthesia monitoring experience   RECOVER CPR Certification   Ventilator management experience  Physical Requirements and Working Environment Qualified candidates should be able to:  Remain active throughout the workday including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and moving throughout hospital departments   Safely lift, carry, and assist with patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with additional support available for larger patients when appropriate   Safely restrain and care for patients of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions   Perform repetitive clinical tasks requiring manual dexterity including:  Venipuncture   IV catheter placement   Medication administration   Patient restraint   Equipment operation   Anesthesia monitoring   Work efficiently in a specialty hospital environment with frequent movement between:  Treatment areas   ICU   Imaging   Surgery   Specialty departments   Communicate effectively with specialists, veterinarians, clients, referring hospitals, and team members  This position may involve exposure to:  Animal dander, fur, saliva, and other allergens   Animal waste, blood, bodily fluids, sharps, and infectious diseases   Cleaning agents, disinfectants, and veterinary medical chemicals   Anesthetic gases and specialty medical equipment   Noise associated with a busy specialty and emergency hospital  Grow Your Career At Dogwood, we believe exceptional medicine starts with exceptional technicians.
