Help Build the Future of Dogwood Surgery Across Marietta and Dunwoody Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is growing and we’re building our Surgery team across multiple locations. We’re seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician who will support our established Marietta hospital while also helping launch and grow our new Dunwoody hospital, opening October 2026. This is a hybrid, multi-location opportunity. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable traveling between locations based on hospital needs, surgical schedules, and team coverage. 📍 Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency – Marietta 1234 Powers Ferry Rd, Marietta, GA 📍 Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency – Dunwoody 4500 N Shallowford Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338 Dogwood’s Marietta hospital provides a strong foundation in specialty and emergency medicine. As we expand into Dunwoody, we’re creating opportunities for experienced technicians to contribute at both locations and help establish new specialty services from the ground up. Follow our progress, construction updates, and behind-the-scenes videos on Instagram: Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency on Instagram What You'll Do As a Surgical Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in developing our upcoming surgery service and supporting advanced specialty procedures. You'll have opportunities to: Prepare patients for specialty surgery and advanced procedures Support surgeons throughout the surgical process Maintain sterile technique and surgical suite readiness Provide advanced surgical nursing and patient monitoring Perform anesthesia induction, maintenance, and recovery Monitor ECG, pulse oximetry, capnography, blood pressure, temperature, and other parameters Support high-risk anesthesia cases and ventilated patients Recognize and respond to anesthetic changes in real time Administer medications and treatments Monitor hospitalized and postoperative patients Maintain accurate anesthesia and treatment records Collaborate closely with surgeons, specialists, emergency clinicians, and nursing teams What We’re Looking For This opportunity is designed for a credentialed veterinary technician who is ready to bring strong technical skills into a specialty environment. You may be a great fit if you have: 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience Experience in surgery, anesthesia, specialty, emergency, or high-volume practice Strong surgical nursing and anesthesia monitoring skills Experience with advanced monitoring equipment Confidence managing patients in a fast-paced surgical environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety Excellent communication and teamwork skills A desire to continue developing your technical expertise LVT credentials are required for this opportunity. Experience with orthopedic or specialty surgery, advanced anesthesia, or surgical nursing is highly valued. RECOVER CPR certification is a plus. Physical & Work Environment This is an active specialty hospital environment. Team members should be comfortable: Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the workday Lifting and assisting with patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate Safely handling patients of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions Performing hands-on technical procedures requiring manual dexterity Working in a fast-paced surgical environment The role may involve exposure to animal dander, cleaning and disinfecting products, medical odors, and other conditions associated with veterinary patient care.
