Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician or Assistant | $18–$35/hr based on experience and certifications + $2/hr overnight differential | Up to $2,000 Sign-On Bonus Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty + Emergency | Alpharetta, GA Full-Time | Three 12-hour overnight shifts | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty + Emergency (AVSE) is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our Overnight Emergency team in Alpharetta, GA. This is an opportunity to work in a brand-new specialty and emergency hospital while caring for emergency patients alongside an experienced medical team. Licensed Veterinary Technicians with Emergency Medicine experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Schedule Full-time Three 12-hour overnight shifts per week 7:00 PM–7:00 AM Overnight schedule Responsibilities As a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant on our Emergency team, you will help provide hands-on care for emergency patients in a fast-paced specialty hospital. Assist veterinarians with emergency patient assessments, treatments, and procedures Triage and safely restrain and handle emergency patients Provide nursing care and monitor patients throughout treatment and hospitalization Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, and laboratory sample collection as appropriate to your training and credentials Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians Assist with diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and other emergency procedures Accurately perform medication calculations and follow established treatment protocols Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the medical team Maintain accurate medical records and patient treatment documentation Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding patient care and treatment Collaborate with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and other hospital team members Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment environment Support a positive, respectful, and collaborative hospital culture Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant Emergency veterinary medicine experience preferred LVT or VTS certification prioritized Strong knowledge of basic veterinary medicine, including triage, restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, venipuncture, anesthesia induction/monitoring/recovery, drug calculations, medication administration, and laboratory procedures Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced emergency environment Excellent communication skills with clients and veterinary team members Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to the needs of individual patients Dependable, compassionate, and committed to excellent patient care Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
