Job Description

We’ve used Roo and similar services to fill relief days, and it works fine — but the rotating-cast model isn’t great for patients, staff, or honestly the relief vets either. We’d rather find one or two experienced relief DVMs who want a consistent home and pay them well to stay. We’d also rather pay you directly than feed a platform. Here’s the pitch: come work a few relief shifts with us first. No commitment, no pressure. If it’s a fit on both sides, we can talk about making it ongoing. If it’s not, you’ve had a few well-paid days at a hospital that runs on time and we part friends. The decision is yours. The arrangement: • $1,400/day, paid directly to you — your LLC, S-corp, or however you’re set up. 1099. No agency, no platform fees, no middleman. • Friday and Saturday coverage is the priority; additional days available by mutual agreement • 9:00am–6:30pm, last appointment at 5:30-5:45 (depending on appointment type), hour for lunch • St. Petersburg, FL Caseload: Small animal — dogs and cats. Our days lean more toward medicine than wellness. Surgery is occasional rather than scheduled-block — mostly what comes in and needs to be managed (lacerations, the occasional foreign body, primary care surgical needs as they present). Looking for someone comfortable handling the full range of general practice. Why we think we’re worth a few shifts: We have three former hospital owners across our practice group — two of whom previously owned 24-hour hospitals. That depth shows up in the day-to-day: protocols are dialed in, the team is experienced, and when something goes sideways or you just want a second set of eyes on a case, you have real clinical backup to call on — not a panicked tech and a phone tree. The hospital is well-equipped: • In-house chem/CBC • Digital radiography • Dental radiography • Ultrasound • Surgical suite • Dental suite • LigaSure • Plasma sterilizer We run a reasonable appointment pace. If you ever decide you want to own your own practice down the road, you’ve got three people in the group who’ve done it and will happily talk through any of it. No pressure either way — plenty of vets are happiest doing relief long-term and have no interest in ownership. Both are fine. What we need from you: • Experienced — comfortable with pyometra, cystotomy, GI FBs, surgical dental extractions, and the general medicine you’d expect in primary care • Reliable • Open to seeing whether this becomes a steady gig — but not required to commit to one upfront Contact: Please reach out to Elena (PM) to schedule a shift or ask any questions: Elena — 863-608-6494 - elena@communityanimalhospitals.com
