Veterinary Assistant - Client Service Representative

Veterinary Emergency Clinic is looking for a multi-talented individual to join their team in Port Charlotte, FL as a cross-trained Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Representative.   Veterinary Assistants and Client Service Representatives are valuable members of our medical teams and play a crucial role in patient care and client service. You will work closely with doctors and technicians to increase efficiency within our hospital as well as the level of care we provide as a team. This is a full-time position.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities:  Greet patients, their pets, vendors, and other visitors to our emergency clinic Answer patient questions, provide assistance and directions when necessary Field all phone calls and send emails Register new patients and update necessary records Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and then check them over to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately Process bills, invoices, and patient payments in office Maintain confidentiality of all patient records Ensure that the waiting room environment remains quiet, calm, organized and welcoming Uphold the positive reputation of our emergency clinic by always treating visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner  Animal handling and restraint  Assist doctors and technicians with medical treatments, diagnostic tests, and procedures  Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical record  Maintain cleanliness of treatment and patient areas  Restock and organize medical supplies  Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set  Skills and Qualifications:  2 years of professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, other), preferred   Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve and handle multiple tasks  Must have the ability to adjust to changes in the environment and able to handle stress in a calm manner  Must be a team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude.   Must be able to anticipate and be detail oriented due to the high level of quality medicine. Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds, and work on feet most of the day.  Benefits and Perks:  Short Term Disability paid for by employer  Complimentary Life Insurance $25,000; with options to purchase additional voluntary benefits for self or family  Company Sponsored Employee Assistance Program (Headspace) 401K with 100% company match up to 3% and 50% company match up to 5%, eligible after 6 months of employment Kaiser/UMR Insurance Plans with multiple options Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account options  United Healthcare Dental Insurance; includes a 100% paid premium option for team members United Healthcare Vision Insurance options Long Term Disability option Progyny-Fertility and Family Building Support (up to $10,000) Team Member Discounts for Pet Care Paid time off inclusive of sick, personal, and vacation LGBTQIA+ support with FOLX HEALTHCARE (if UMR enrolled) Sword Digital Musculoskeletal & Physical Therapy Program (if UMR enrolled) Referral Bonus Program DailyPay on Demand The Veterinary Emergency Clinic is an equipped trauma and emergency facility that offers many services.
