Job Description

We are working on behalf of a long established, multi-doctor small animal hospital on Florida's Emerald Coast that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its team. The practice has served the Mary Esther community since 1986 and has built a loyal client base and a strong local reputation over that time. Caseload is broad small animal general practice, covering wellness and preventive care, testing and diagnostics, surgical procedures, advanced care, and urgent care for existing clients, so you will see genuine variety rather than the same few appointment types every day. Doctors here are trusted to lead their own cases and set the standard for their patients, with a supportive paraprofessional team handling the work around them. The hospital is independently run day to day but sits within a wider veterinary network, which means access to internal specialty consultations and a sounding board for complex cases when you want one. There is real investment in development, with a yearly CE allowance, paid CE days, structured mentorship, and leadership tracks for anyone who wants to move in that direction. This is a good fit for an experienced DVM or a confident newer graduate who wants autonomy without being left on their own. Mary Esther sits between Fort Walton Beach and Destin, minutes from white sand beaches and clear Gulf water, with boating, fishing, and year round outdoor living on the doorstep and no state income tax. Key Highlights • Long established multi-doctor small animal hospital serving its community since 1986 • Broad general practice caseload including wellness, diagnostics, surgery, and urgent care • Clinical autonomy with a supportive, experienced paraprofessional team around you • Access to internal specialty consultations across a wider veterinary network • Yearly CE allowance with dedicated paid CE days • Structured mentorship and leadership tracks for those who want them • Daytime small animal hours, with no overnight emergency shifts • Emerald Coast location minutes from Destin and Fort Walton Beach, with no state income tax • Sign-on bonus and relocation support open to discussion for the right candidate About You • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US • You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in Florida and are in good standing • Comfortable leading your own cases across routine and urgent small animal work • Strong communicator who can explain findings and options clearly to clients • Collaborative, positive, and happy to contribute to a settled team culture • Open to mentorship and ongoing development, whether you are experienced or newer to practice Benefits • Competitive base salary with monthly production bonus and no negative accrual • Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus maternity leave and 24/7 telehealth access • 401k with a company match, plus short and long term disability cover • Yearly CE allowance with paid CE days, mentorship, and leadership development • Company paid professional liability coverage • Access to a nationwide community of veterinary professionals for collaboration and referrals
