Company Description Focused Pet Care is a dedicated, multi-doctor emergency hospital that is bringing on a boarded surgeon to expand our services. We serve Orange Park and the broader Northeastern Florida community. We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — providing immediate, uninterrupted emergency care with no on-call delays. Our hospital features a hospital-grade ICU, in-house laboratory and diagnostics, oxygen therapy, a fully stocked blood bank with transfusion capability, and critical care support from experienced emergency veterinarians and technicians. To learn more about us click the link: https://stonecliffacnh.com/ Job Description This position is heavily focused on surgical assistance and anesthesia monitoring. You will work alongside our boarded veterinary surgeon -  managing complex surgical cases, supporting anesthetic protocols, and providing exceptional nursing care from pre-op through recovery. Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance is required to be considered for this role. Core responsibilities include: Surgical preparation, assistance, and post-operative patient care Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and management throughout procedures Triage and nursing care of emergency and hospitalized patients with varying acuity Collection and analysis of laboratory samples; radiograph positioning and capture Administration of medications and treatments per veterinarian direction Clear, compassionate communication of treatment plans with clients and families Accurate completion of surgical notes, charts, and medical records Animal restraint using low-stress, safe handling techniques Qualifications We’re looking for: A certified veterinary technician, 2+ year experience required Licensed individuals with a specialty in anesthesia and analgesia or a specialty in surgery would be preferred, but neither is required Experienced and proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring Knowledge in pre-operative care, preparation for surgical procedures, post-operative care, and discussing continued care with clients Orthopedic and soft tissue experience preferred Emergency surgery experience highly desirable Ability to interpret medical records and record client history accurately Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner A high work ethic and positive attitude team member Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work Weekend availability Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency Additional Information Pay Range: $25-$32/hr. depending on level of experience.
