Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Small Animal GP Veterinarian to join a long-established, privately owned hospital in Florida that has been serving its community for nearly 60 years. This is a unique role for a confident clinician who enjoys autonomy, values a close-knit team culture, and wants the chance to help shape the future of a growing practice—with a genuine pathway toward Medical Director responsibilities and potential future ownership/equity for the right person. The hospital is currently in an exciting growth phase and offers a refreshing alternative to larger corporate environments. With a small, family-oriented team of around 9 staff members plus an experienced reproduction specialist, the culture is collaborative, supportive, and highly personal. Team members genuinely care about one another, and the environment is described as nimble, adaptable, and far less chaotic than many larger hospitals. This is primarily a General Practice role, although the hospital is highly regarded for its reproductive medicine services and operates one of the largest semen storage programs in Florida. There is the opportunity to learn reproduction and theriogenology work over time if that interests you, though it is absolutely not required. The incoming doctor should feel comfortable practicing independently most of the time, handling general surgery, dentistry, and medicine cases confidently. You’ll have access to excellent support and equipment including three ultrasound units, modern dental equipment, laser therapy, cardiac monitors, tonopens, and visiting specialists who provide orthopedic, advanced soft tissue, ultrasound, and echocardiography services. There is also access to telemedicine support when needed. The practice currently operates Monday–Friday with no regular weekends, offering excellent work-life balance. Caseload is manageable and growing steadily, making this a fantastic opportunity for a motivated veterinarian who enjoys building client relationships, mentoring a younger support team, and helping drive the continued success of an already well-equipped hospital. Key Highlights: • Long-established privately owned hospital with nearly 60 years in the community • Genuine future pathway toward Medical Director and potential ownership/equity • Monday–Friday schedule with no routine weekends or on-call • Highly autonomous GP role with the support of repro specialists and visiting specialists • Well-equipped hospital with multiple ultrasounds, advanced dental equipment, laser therapy, and modern monitoring tools • Opportunity to learn reproduction and theriogenology services over time • Small, close-knit team culture with strong community involvement and excellent growth potential About you: • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US • You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in Florida • Comfortable with solo GP practice including surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine • Enjoys autonomy and helping develop a growing hospital and support team • Interest in future leadership or ownership opportunities would be highly advantageous Benefits: • Competitive base salary ranging from $120,000–$175,000 depending on experience • Production bonus on top of base salary • Flexible scheduling options including potential 4-day work week • Opportunity for mentorship and development in reproduction medicine • Long-term leadership and ownership growth opportunities within the practice
