Requirements
Atlas represents a privately owned, AAHA-accredited small animal hospital on Florida's Nature Coast, with roots in the community for more than four decades and a strong reputation for excellence among local pet owners. The practice is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to a close-knit team of three full-time doctors, supported by an additional part-time doctor. This is a well-equipped hospital offering a CT scanner, surgical laser, vessel sealer, electrocautery, endoscopy, an in-house IDEXX lab, digital radiography, dental X-ray, six anesthesia machines, two therapy lasers, and an oxygenated ICU cage, giving doctors the tools to practice comprehensive medicine and, for those who want it, to build advanced surgical skills including TPLO and fracture repair. Surgical caseload is entirely optional, and general practice-minded candidates are just as welcome. The current owner took over the practice three years ago and has built a genuinely supportive, low-drama culture focused on mentorship, open communication, and work-life balance. Both new graduates seeking hands-on guidance and experienced veterinarians looking for a progressive, well-resourced environment will find a good fit here. There are no weekend hours, with a four-day working week, and the practice is open to both full-time and part-time arrangements. Homosassa offers a relaxed pace of life on Florida's west coast, close to Crystal River, the Suncoast Parkway, and some of the state's best fishing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.
