Requirements
The Veterinary Technician plays a vital, multi-functional role in supporting the medical care and well-being of animals throughout Gulf Coast Humane Society. This position works across various departments, including the high-volume spay and neuter clinic, affordable wellness clinic, and shelter medicine, helping ensure humane, efficient, and high-quality veterinary care is delivered organization-wide. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Support veterinarians in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients in our affordable full-service clinic. Administer prescribed medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments. Assist in surgical and dental procedures. Monitor and care for hospitalized patients. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the the patient database (Covetrus Pulse.) Educate clients about medical conditions, treatment plans, and general animal health. Ensure cleanliness and biosecurity of medical areas, kennels, and equipment. Follow safety protocols and proper animal handling techniques. Other duties as assigned.
