Requirements
We are working on behalf of a well established, five doctor small animal and exotics practice in Suffield, CT that is looking to welcome a full time Associate Veterinarian to its team. Founded more than 40 years ago, the hospital has grown from a family run business into a respected general practice offering medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets including rabbits, ferrets, and birds. The doctors share interests in dentistry, exotics, and behavior, so you can expect a varied caseload and colleagues who genuinely enjoy talking through cases. The schedule is built to respect your time: 30 to 40 hours across four days, a Saturday rotation, no on call, a protected lunch hour, and a last appointment at 5pm with no expectation to stay late. Appointments run 20 to 30 minutes, and you will be supported by a 2.5 to 1 staff to doctor ratio that includes licensed technicians and assistants. The facility has four exam rooms, two surgical suites, an in house IDEXX lab, digital radiography and dental radiography, ultrasound, and EKG, with a traveling specialist ultrasonographer available for more complex workups. Experienced DVMs and confident new graduates are both welcome. New grads will get real mentorship in general medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery, with more case ownership as your skills and judgment grow. The practice is about 20 minutes from Hartford, with Bradley International Airport close by and Boston and New York City within easy reach.
