Aspetuck Animal Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to our team.  At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our technologically advanced and progressive practice offers in-house diagnostics, digital radiography, acupuncture, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, and a full surgical suite performing routine procedures, soft tissue procedures, and orthopedics. We pride ourselves on offering high-quality medicine with a personal approach. https://aspetuckvet.com/    Veterinary Technician     Aspetuck Animal Hospital in New Preston, CT   $18 - 25 an hour (based on experience)     WHAT YOU’LL DO     Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones    Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy    Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas    Perform physical assessments and record your observations    Diagnostics (Radiographs, ECG, Blood Pressure, Venipuncture)  Placing IV Catheters  Administering treatments  Assisting and monitoring patients during surgery  Providing emergency and critical care to patients  Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures (sometimes using chin scratches!)    Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients    Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions    Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered    Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)    Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery    BENEFITS    Our Comprehensive benefit package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance  401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment  Generous paid time off and flexible scheduling  Continuing education allowance and professional development support  Mental Health Resources  Company paid bonding leave or applicable state provided bonding leave  Perks for Your Pets Too! Because we know how much your pets mean to you, we offer special benefits designed just for them: Pet Care: Discounts on veterinary services and products  Diagnostics: Savings on reference lab testing  Nutrition: Discounts on Purina pet foods  Insurance: Preferred rates with our pet insurance partner  REQUIREMENTS       High school diploma or equivalent    Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required    Must have a positive attitude and be a team player    Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is a purpose-driven team that places talent first by supporting professionals to thrive in our industry and empowering hospital teams to provide exceptional care for pets and their owners.
