Job Description

I’m working with a fast-growing veterinary partnership organization that takes a refreshingly different approach to ownership and leadership. Rather than stripping practices of their identity, this group partners directly with veterinarians to co-own and grow their hospitals, keeping medicine led by clinicians, culture intact, and decision-making close to the practice. This Operations Manager role is best described as a “mini-CEO” position, overseeing a regional portfolio of 6–9 veterinary hospitals. You’ll work closely with veterinarian owners and practice leaders, taking full accountability for operational performance, profitability, and long-term value creation. It’s a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior leadership, including the executive team, and genuine influence over strategy and execution. The environment is data-driven but people-first. You’ll balance P&L ownership with coaching and developing hospital leaders, leading monthly performance reviews, identifying operational bottlenecks, and rolling out strategic initiatives that actually stick. With strong financial backing and over 180 partner hospitals nationwide, this is an opportunity to step into a leadership role with real autonomy, scale, and career runway. This position suits someone who thrives in complexity, whether your background is multi-site operations, healthcare management, consulting, or finance and who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. Travel is a key component (up to 75%), as relationship-building with hospital teams is central to success. Key Highlights: • “Mini-CEO” role with full accountability for a portfolio of 6–9 veterinary hospitals • Direct ownership of multi-site P&Ls, performance metrics, and value creation • Close partnership with veterinarian owners and practice managers • High exposure to executive leadership and cross-functional teams • Strong financial backing and continued national growth • Mix of strategic planning and hands-on operational execution • Clear long-term career progression within a scaling organization About You: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred • Experience leading multi-site operations or complex business units • Ideally have experience within veterinary medicine • Strong financial and analytical acumen with P&L exposure • Comfortable working closely with doctors or clinician-led teams • Entrepreneurial, adaptable, and energized by fast-paced environments Benefits: • Competitive base salary: $120,000–$140,000, depending on experience • Significant autonomy and decision-making authority • Exposure to senior leadership and enterprise-level strategy • Opportunity to grow with a well-capitalized, expanding organization • Comprehensive benefits package
