Veterinary Technician The Veterinary Technician is a vital member of our veterinary team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care to animals while supporting veterinarians and upholding the highest standards of veterinary medicine. Key Responsibilities The Veterinary Technician assists with examinations, treatments, and patient monitoring, administering medications and vaccines, collecting lab samples, and performing diagnostic tests. They prepare surgical suites and patients for surgery, assist during procedures, manage anesthesia monitoring, and provide post-operative care. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, managing inventory, and performing select reception duties such as triaging calls, scheduling, and patient intake and discharge. The Veterinary Technician also educates clients on Wellness Plans, nutrition, medications, and disease prevention, while contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the hospital. All work is performed in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies. Customer Service The Veterinary Technician consistently delivers professional, efficient, and compassionate service, adapting to the individual needs of each client and resolving concerns promptly and effectively. Qualifications The ideal candidate has hands-on experience handling dogs, cats, and exotic animals, along with strong knowledge of veterinary procedures including surgery, dentistry, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and anesthesia management. They are familiar with veterinary terminology, medication administration, and dosage calculations, and demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, good independent judgment, proficiency in veterinary software systems, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are essential for success in this role.
