Requirements
Laurel Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit. Responsibilities include: Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assisting in surgery Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule and compensation: Compensation:$37-40 per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Sunday. Full-time Benefits Package*: Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of California CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with company match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount *Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 3+ years of veterinary technician experience Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of California** Proficiency in the following skills: Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery Surgical assistance and aseptic technique Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement Radiology positioning and safety protocols Medication administration and accurate drug calculations Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques Client education and communication Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong critical thinking and attention to detail Effective teamwork and professional communication skills Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning Laurel Pet Hospital is looking for passionate and skilled Veterinary Technicians to join our thriving, multi-doctor team.
