Job Description

ER Veterinary Technician Location: SAGE San Francisco Schedule: Full-Time | 4/10 schedule  Compensation: Up to $40/hour + $5.50/hr shift differential (6pm–6am) Hiring Bonus: Up to $7,000 Who We Are At SAGE San Francisco we are passionate about animals and deeply committed to their care. Position Details:  As a Veterinary Technician in the ER department, you will be responsible to: Triage and monitor incoming patients, including critical and fractious cases Administer treatments, medications, oxygen therapy, and IV fluids Place and maintain catheters, central lines, and urinary catheters Perform diagnostic tests (bloodwork, radiographs, ultrasound, CT/MRI) Assist in emergency procedures (CPR, thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis) Ensure accurate documentation and communication with both doctors and pet owners Provide supportive care for post-surgical and long-term patients Maintain and stock emergency equipment and supplies Demonstrate calmness, critical thinking, and teamwork under pressure Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma required 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience (specialty medicine preferred) Strong math skills for drug dosing, CRIs, and invoicing Must obtain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days (waived with valid CA-RVT license) CA-RVT license preferred Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k) with match, EAP Vacation and sick time accrual + uniforms provided Competitive RVT CE allowance & reimbursement for license application/renewal Paid continuing education (CE) + monthly RACE-approved courses Cash bonuses for career milestones (RVT, VTS) Financial support & onsite mentorship toward VTS pursuit Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Hiring Bonus: RVT: $7,000 Senior VA: $5,000 Why Join Us?  At Ethos Veterinary Health, we’re redefining excellence in veterinary medicine.
