Job Description

San Francisco Animal Medical Center is looking for an experienced veterinary assistant or RVT for our ER department. We are hiring for all shifts (day, swing, overnight). We are passionate about providing excellent care and high standard of medicine to our clients and patients, as well as a positive and supportive work environment to our staff. Strong applicants will be proficient in the following skills: - Animal restraint and handling (especially as pertains to critical patients) - Venipuncture and IVC placement - Emergency triage - CPR / Trauma support - Providing oxygen support and caring for oxygen dependent patients - Caring for hospitalized patients and providing treatments - Communication with doctors and patient advocacy - Comfortable with medical calculations (including but not limited to drug calculations, constant rate infusions, and fluid additives) Candidate must also be able to stand for long periods, crouch, and lift up to 40 pounds. We also provide differentials for our swing and overnight shifts! +$3/hr for shifts ending between 12-4 am +$5hr for shifts ending between 5-7 am +$7/hr for shifts ending after 7 am
