At Santaluz Animal Care, we're looking for individuals who share our values and are ready to create something truly special. As a full-time/Part-time Veterinary Assistant at Santaluz Animal Care, you will become an integral part of our team. We're looking for individuals who are team players, bring a positive attitude, have a deep passion for the job, are accountable, and can work independently and in a team setting. Strong communication skills are a must, as you'll be working closely with our fantastic team of Veterinarians and Technicians. Job duties include (but not limited to): Basic reception duties The ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment and to communicate to build relationships with colleagues and clients is required. The ability to deliver exceptional client and patient services. Knowledge of Fear Free techniques, and Fear Free certification is preferred. * Access to certification will be provided if not already possessed. Knowledge of common medications, and filling medications Knowledge of prevention protocols Place IV catheters, obtain patient samples Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis Clean and maintain medical equipment and instruments Instrument and equipment sterilization and maintenance Monitoring anesthesia.
