We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will be the backbone of our outpatient services, ensuring appointments run smoothly, patients stay comfortable, and pet parents feel supported. We have 2 open positions currently. What You’ll Do Exam Room Flow: Prepare exam rooms, obtain patient histories and vitals, and maintain a calm, low-stress environment for pets. Restraint & Handling: Provide safe, low-stress restraint for dogs and cats during physical examinations and procedures. Preventative Care Support: Assist DVMs with vaccine administration, routine blood draws, in-house diagnostics (fecal tests, 4Dx/heartworm checks, urinalysis), and nail trims. Client Communication: Educate owners on preventative wellness, parasite prevention, diet, and basic post-visit care. Notify clients of normal and simple abnormal bloodwork/diagnostic results. Main point of contact between the veterinarian and the pet parent/client. Medical Records & Cleanliness: Accurately document SOAP notes/treatments in patient records, restock exam rooms, and keep treatment areas sanitized. RVTs are expected to perform the above as well as surgical preparation and monitoring, dental radiographs, dental prophy and simple extractions per California law. What We’re Looking For Previous hands-on experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a general practice or wellness setting. Strong handling skills with both dogs and cats. Excellent verbal communication and a friendly, client-focused attitude. Fear Free certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain). A dependable team player ready for opening/closing shifts (30–40 hours/week). Full time or Part time considered with 4-9 or 5-8 available.
