Job Description

Veterinary Specialty Medical Director Greater Los Angeles, CA | Full-Time Base Salary: $400,000–$450,000 We’re representing a major multi-specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in Southern California seeking a board-certified veterinary specialist for a senior Medical Director opportunity. This is a true hospital leadership role for someone who wants to influence far more than individual case management. The Medical Director will help set the clinical direction of the hospital, support and develop the doctor team, and work closely with operational leadership on continued growth and performance. The position includes: $400,000–$450,000 base salary Sign-on bonus Relocation assistance Comprehensive benefits Leadership development and mentorship resources Significant opportunity to influence the long-term direction of a large specialty hospital The Medical Director will provide leadership to a team that includes board-certified specialists, emergency veterinarians, interns, and residents, with an emphasis on medical quality, collaboration, accountability, doctor development, and patient outcomes. The hospital has a strong referral base and a broad specialty and emergency caseload spanning areas such as emergency medicine, cardiology, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, orthopedics, and exotic medicine. Ideal candidates will have: DVM/VMD or equivalent Board certification in a veterinary specialty Previous veterinary leadership experience California veterinary licensure, or ability to obtain it before starting DEA license or eligibility A collaborative leadership style and interest in mentoring and developing other doctors This could be an exceptional opportunity for an established specialist or current specialty leader who wants a high-level clinical leadership role with substantial compensation, strong resources, and the ability to shape the future of a major referral hospital.
