Job Description

We’re excited to represent a progressive, privately owned small animal hospital in East Sacramento seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their growing team. Established in 2019 and recently expanded into a modern 10,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility, this hospital offers an excellent environment to practice high-quality medicine. The hospital is designed with advanced facilities, including two fully equipped surgery suites, a dedicated dental suite, and an in-house pharmacy. The caseload is focused on small animal patients, with time built into the schedule to ensure thorough case work-ups and strong client communication. A strong doctor-to-technician ratio ensures you’ll be supported every step of the way. Currently home to two experienced doctors with a third joining soon, the team is collaborative and committed to providing excellent medical care in a supportive environment. A structured schedule allows for quality medicine without burnout: 40-minute appointment slots, built-in two-hour lunch breaks, and urgent care cases integrated without overloading your day. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who thrives in a supportive, high-quality clinical environment with time to focus on patient care and client communication. Key Highlights • Modern, 10,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility with advanced surgical suites • Small animal-only caseload with varied, complex cases • 40-minute appointments and a controlled daily caseload (10–14 per day) • 4 x 10-hour shifts with a built-in two-hour lunch break • 2–3 surgeries per day on rotation, plus structured urgent care slots • Privately owned, veterinarian-led hospital • Strong support team with high doctor-to-technician ratio Benefits • Base salary is experience dependant with a 20% production model (no negative accrual) • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (with additional monthly health contribution) • 401k with 4% match after one year • 3 weeks PTO + 1 week CE leave • CE allowance from $1,200 (negotiable) plus paid CE days • Sign-on bonus • Career development opportunities within a supportive hospital group
