Requirements
We are working on behalf of a well established general practice hospital in Sacramento, CA that is looking to welcome an experienced Medical Director to its leadership team. This is a highly collaborative, community focused practice with a loyal client base, part of a wider family of veterinary hospitals across Northern California. In this role you will lead and mentor a skilled, supportive veterinary team, partnering closely with the Hospital Manager and the wider network's Chief Medical Officer to guide clinical standards and drive hospital success. The hospital offers in house diagnostics, dental radiography, and access to same day echocardiography and ultrasound, all within a well equipped, modern facility. There is a genuine opportunity here to help drive AAHA accreditation and Fear Free initiatives, and to act as a clinical resource for complex cases while supporting DVM development across the team. Key Highlights • Leadership support from an experienced CMO and wider executive team • Opportunity to help drive AAHA accreditation and Fear Free initiatives • Strong hospital leadership model, partnering directly with the Hospital Manager • In house diagnostics, dental radiography, and access to same day echocardiography and ultrasound • No weekends required on this position • $3,000 annual CE allowance with 40 hours paid CE time on a four day work week • Uncapped production bonus on top of a strong total compensation package, no negative accrual • Sign-on bonus and relocation support available for qualified candidates • Advanced clinical training across the wider hospital network About You • DVM or VMD from an AVMA accredited veterinary school • Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in California • 5 plus years of clinical experience • Leadership experience as a Medical Director, Clinical Director, or Lead Veterinarian preferred • Genuine passion for mentorship, collaboration, and high quality medicine Benefits • Total compensation of $180,000 to $220,000 plus uncapped production bonus • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for qualified candidates • $3,000 annual CE allowance plus 40 hours paid CE time • 401(k) with 100 percent company match up to 4 percent • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, including virtual care • Health and dependent care FSA/HSA accounts • Employer paid life and AD&D insurance, plus short and long term disability coverage • Comprehensive employee assistance program with free mental health, legal, and financial support • Generous paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays
