Associate Veterinarian role at an established small animal and exotics hospital in Elk Grove, CA with broad caseload and support. This hospital has been part of the community since the early 1990s and is well known locally for consistent medical standards and long-term client relationships. The caseload includes dogs and cats alongside a meaningful volume of pocket pets, avian, and exotics. Clients come here expecting thorough workups, clear communication, and continuity over the life of their pets. Medicine is practiced at a complete GP level. Diagnostics, surgery, preventive care, and ongoing case management are part of the daily rhythm. Doctors are expected to think cases through, set treatment plans they believe in, and see those plans carried out with appropriate support. The hospital is equipped to handle a wide range of medical and surgical needs in-house, allowing veterinarians to stay engaged clinically without constantly referring routine cases out. The team is experienced and stable, with support staff who are comfortable handling complex cases across species. Leadership is clinically grounded and accessible, with an emphasis on maintaining standards rather than chasing trends. Mentorship and continuing education are available in practical ways, whether that means developing confidence with exotics, refining surgery skills, or exploring leadership paths over time. This role is well suited for a veterinarian who wants variety in their caseload, values thoughtful medicine, and prefers a hospital with an established reputation rather than one still finding its footing.
