Job Description

I’m working exclusively with a well-established small animal hospital that has been a trusted part of its community for over two decades. This is a full-service general practice with a strong reputation for high-quality medicine, loyal clients, and a genuinely supportive internal culture. The hospital operates from a clean, modern facility designed to support efficient workflows and high clinical standards, allowing doctors to focus on practicing excellent medicine without unnecessary friction. You’ll be joining a collaborative team of four experienced DVMs, supported by a large, skilled support staff who are hands-on and proactive. The hospital places a strong emphasis on teamwork and shared decision-making, with an environment that welcomes new ideas while maintaining consistent medical standards. Whether you’re an experienced veterinarian looking for stability or a newer graduate seeking mentorship, there is structure, guidance, and flexibility to support your professional growth. The caseload is varied and engaging, covering preventative care, diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and urgent cases when needed. The practice is well-equipped to support thorough workups and confident case management, and leadership is invested in continuous learning, skills development, and long-term career satisfaction. The overarching philosophy is simple: excellent patient care starts with well-supported veterinarians. Ideally we would welcome a DVM to join the clinic on either a 4 or 5 day working week with flexibility to suit your needs. They open on Saturdays for a half day and expect their DVMs to rotate the responsibilities of this, meaning every fourth or fifth week, you would cover a Saturday shift. Key Highlights: • Established, highly reputable small animal hospital with long-standing community trust • Collaborative 4-DVM team with strong technical and assistant support • Full-service general practice with diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care • Supportive environment with a focus on mentorship and professional development • Stable leadership and low staff turnover • Emphasis on quality medicine and thoughtful case management • Excellent client relationships and a positive workplace culture About You: • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US • You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in California • Passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care • Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, team-oriented practice • Open to continued learning and professional development Benefits: • Competitive compensation with production opportunities up to $180,000 base salary • Health, dental, and vision insurance • Paid time off and paid holidays • Continuing education allowance with paid CE days • Licensing and professional dues covered
