Job Description

This beautifully designed clinic, opened in 2024, offers a modern and thoughtfully built environment with three exam rooms, a fully equipped surgical suite, dental suite, and a welcoming, intelligently designed lobby space. The hospital is supported by an in-house technology platform that significantly reduces administrative burden, alongside a 24/7 virtual care team that adds an extra layer of support for both clients and clinicians. Currently operating with 2 DVMs and 12 support staff, the clinic has capacity to grow to a 6-DVM team, making this an exciting opportunity for a confident, experienced Lead Veterinarian who wants to lay strong foundations, mentor incoming doctors, and drive both medical quality and clinic growth. You’ll work closely with an experienced Clinic Manager, while reporting into an established Regional Medical Director structure for clinical support and leadership development. Doctors work 30-minute appointment blocks, seeing approximately 16 pre-booked patients per day, with one dedicated surgical day per week. The schedule is a consistent 4-day week of 10-hour shifts, with no weekend requirement. Importantly, 10% of your time is protected for leadership responsibilities, mentorship, and administrative duties, ensuring you can truly lead rather than simply add management tasks onto a full clinical load. This organization is deeply committed to building a sustainable and blame-free veterinary culture. Structured scheduling means you work a single flow per shift (exam, urgent, or procedure), allowing for better focus and reduced burnout. The support model empowers veterinary nurses and assistants to practice at the top of their skillset, and the wider leadership team is focused on mentorship, CE, and long-term career development. With a base salary of $170,000–$200,000 plus a 10% Lead Doctor bonus, monthly production, quarterly production “lifts,” eligibility for a Lead Doctor Bonus tied to clinic performance, and equity opportunities, this role offers genuine clinical and financial progression. Key Highlights: • Modern clinic opened in 2024 with surgical and dental suites • Capacity to grow from 2 to 6 DVMs — strong leadership impact opportunity • 4-day week, 10-hour shifts, no weekend requirement • 30-minute appointments, ~16 cases per day • 10% protected admin/mentorship time • Technology platform + 24/7 virtual care support • Equity opportunities + enhanced Lead Doctor bonus structure About You: • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US • You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in California • 5+ years of clinical experience, with leadership or mentorship experience preferred • Motivated by building teams and developing clinic culture • Passionate about sustainable practice and high-quality medicine Benefits: • $170,000–$200,000 base salary • Flexible scheduling options with 4 days available per week, no weekends. • Production bonus + Lead Doctor Bonus • Equity opportunities • Medical, dental, vision insurance + 401(k) with company match • CE allowance + paid CE days, PTO, parental leave & wellbeing support
