Surgery Lead - Registered Veterinary Technician Are you an experienced Veterinary Technician looking to advance your career in specialty medicine? The Surgery Lead is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who provides day-to-day leadership and operational coordination for the Surgery Department. This role functions as the primary support person and right-hand to the surgeons, ensuring efficient surgical flow, strong communication, and consistent standards of patient care. This position does not carry full managerial authority but requires strong organizational and leadership skills.   Essential Duties & Responsibilities – Surgery Flow & Organization ● Coordinate daily surgery schedules, admissions, procedures, and discharges ● Work closely with scheduling staff to optimize surgeon availability and case flow ● Assign surgery nurses and technicians based on caseload, skill level, and patient needs ● Anticipate workflow challenges and proactively problem-solve throughout the surgical day ● Serve as point person for day-of-surgery coordination   Team Leadership & Support ● Provide daily leadership and direction to surgery nursing staff ● Support onboarding and training of new surgery team members ● Monitor task completion and patient care standards ● Provide coaching and feedback; escalate concerns to management when needed ● Promote a professional, respectful, and collaborative team culture   Client Communication & Follow-Up ● Serve as a key contact for surgical clients as delegated by surgeons ● Provide compassionate pre- and post-operative communication ● Coordinate client updates, follow-ups, and discharge instructions ● Assist in addressing client concerns in collaboration with surgeons   Clinical Responsibilities ● Perform Surgery Technician duties including anesthetic monitoring as needed ● Assist with patient preparation, intraoperative support, and recovery ● Ensure adherence to anesthesia, surgical, and nursing protocols ● Act as a clinical resource for surgery staff   Benefits and Perks Complimentary Short-Term Disability   Complimentary Life Insurance; with options to purchase additional voluntary benefits for self or family   Company Sponsored Employee Assistance Program (Headspace)  401K with 100% company match up to 3% and 4% company match for your 5% of contributions, eligible after 6 months of employment  Florida Blue Insurance Plans with 3 tiered options; Kaiser for CA Residents  Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account or Health Reimbursement Account options   United Healthcare Dental Insurance; includes a 100% paid premium option for team members  United Healthcare Vision Insurance options  Long Term Disability option (paid for by employee)  Progyny-Fertility and Family Building Support   Team Member Discounts for Pet Care  Paid time off inclusive of sick, personal, and vacation  Digital Musculoskeletal Support Referral Bonus Program DailyPay on Demand We are a proud United Veterinary Care Partner hospital.
