SAGE Veterinary Centers in Concord is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for a three-month temporary assignment primarily supporting our Internal Medicine team. This part-time position is a great opportunity for someone with strong foundational veterinary assisting skills who enjoys hands-on patient care, working with clients, and supporting a collaborative specialty team. While your primary home will be Internal Medicine, you may also have opportunities to assist other specialty departments based on hospital needs. Why Join SAGE Concord? Consistent part-time schedule: Monday, Thursday, and Friday Three-month temporary assignment $26.00–$32.00/hour depending on experience Gain experience within a Specialty & Emergency hospital Work primarily alongside the Internal Medicine team Opportunity to support additional specialty services Build your skills while working with experienced veterinary professionals In Your Day-to-Day, You Will Support the Internal Medicine team with daily patient care and hospital workflow Safely handle and restrain patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures Collect blood and other laboratory samples Assist with procedures within the appropriate scope of your role Prepare patients and necessary supplies for procedures and treatments Support accurate and efficient laboratory sample collection and handling Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care needs Maintain clean, organized, and prepared treatment and procedure areas Provide support to other specialty departments when needed What You Bring Previous hands-on veterinary hospital experience Confidence with animal handling and restraint Experience with blood sample collection Ability to assist with veterinary procedures within your scope Strong client communication skills Attention to detail and organization Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment Interest in Internal Medicine and specialty veterinary care Compensation & Schedule Pay: $26.00–$32.00/hour, depending on experienceEmployment Type: Part-Time, TemporaryAssignment Length: Approximately 3 monthsSchedule: Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PMPrimary Department: Internal Medicine Location SAGE Veterinary Centers – Concord serves pets and families throughout the East Bay, including Concord, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Lafayette, Pittsburg, Antioch, Brentwood, Danville, San Ramon, and surrounding communities.
