Job Description

Note: All positions at our facility are paid positions. We do not offer unpaid internships. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients as well as client education. This position requires a strong background in anesthesia, handling and restraint, and customer service. If you are passionate about animal orthopedics and have the necessary skills and experience, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities: * Assist the veterinarian by collecting patient histories * Perform routine procedures such as TPR’s, blood draws, run in-house laboratory, IV catheter placement * Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian * Monitor vital signs and anesthesia during surgical procedures * Prepare animals for surgery, monitor anesthesia and scrub in during surgical procedures * Proficient in bandaging and radiology * Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals * Client communication: Answer phone calls, reception duties when needed, discharge patients * Maintain accurate medical records Experience: To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications: * Previous experience working as a Veterinary Surgical Technician (RVT/LVT) * Strong knowledge of aseptic technique * Familiarity with anesthesia ventilator is a plus * Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and effectively * Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners on proper animal care * Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Benefits: We offer competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
