At Foothills Animal Hospital, you won't have to—with an average of 5-8 technicians per doctor, our efficient and well-trained support staff ensure everything runs smoothly, allowing you to leave on time. We are continuously striving to better serve our community, and as part of this commitment, we're seeking a passionate Associate DVM who has experience in emergency and urgent care services, to help us provide top-notch care around the clock. By joining us, you'll be instrumental in our mission to offer exceptional veterinary services whenever our community needs us. Our state-of-the-art equipment includes: CT, fluoroscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopy, two LOGIQ ultrasound machines, digital radiography, Snyder oxygen unit, Hi-flow oxygen, two critical care cribs, defibrillator, two surgical suites with Ligature, minimally invasive surgical tower and C-arm, and separate ICU for post-op recovery and critical care cases. Living in Yuma Yuma, AZ is 2.5 hours from Phoenix and San Diego, and 10 minutes away from Mexico. The city offers abundant affordable housing with large lots, lots of sunshine and minimal rain. What We Offer $150,000 - $250,000 base salary (commiserate with experience & work schedule) Uncapped production bonus pay incentives Relocation Assistance available Housing available for traveling DVMs Medical/Dental/Vision insurance Paid Time Off Continuing Education time off and reimbursement Financial Wellness Program 401K + company match Paid license fees, VIN/Plumbs membership, and Liability Insurance Employee Referral Program Flexible Work Schedules CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS: Supports excellence in client experience, especially during urgent situations Works collaboratively with HM, Medical Director, and team Practices high-quality emergency and critical care medicine Quickly assesses, diagnoses, and treats animals in urgent conditions Performs necessary emergency surgical procedures Prescribes and administers timely interventions and care plans Interprets emergency diagnostic tests for prompt treatment Maintains clear patient records for effective case handovers Takes the lead in emergencies, providing expert urgent care Stays current with ER techniques and critical care practices Manages a variety of complex urgent cases effectively Guides ER team during high-pressure situations Communicates clearly with pet owners about critical situations Provides compassionate guidance in urgent end-of-life situations Competencies And Experience: Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of Arizona 3+ years of clinical experience, preferred ER experience, preferred Strong clinical skills and sound medical judgment Good communication skills, both written and verbal Time-management and delegation abilities Exercises sound judgement and demonstrates exemplary decision-making skills Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with others Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
