Veterinary Technician / Assistant — Full-Time Davis Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, hardworking, and dependable Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. We strive to provide the highest quality care possible for our community’s pets, and we are looking for someone who will help us continue delivering that level of care. Previous veterinary technician or assistant experience is preferred, and formal veterinary technician education or certification is a plus. We are willing to train the right individual who is eager to learn, dependable, and committed to providing excellent patient care. What We’re Looking For -Strong work ethic and impeccable character -Compassion and empathy for animals and their owners -Ability to safely and confidently handle and restrain dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions -Comfortable working with needles, blood, cats, dogs, and surgical procedures -Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and teamwork skills -Willingness and ability to learn new skills and procedures -Ability to work rotating weekends Responsibilities & Skills The ideal candidate will be competent in, or willing to become proficient in: -IV catheter placement and maintenance -Sample collection and processing -Medication administration and treatments -Surgery preparation and post-operative recovery -Anesthesia monitoring and patient safety -Digital radiography and dental radiography -Patient monitoring, medical records, and documentation -Assisting doctors and supporting the veterinary team with daily patient care Above all, we are looking for someone who combines technical competence with genuine empathy and compassion for our patients and their owners.
