Responsibilities Provide emergency examinations, diagnostics, treatment plans, and patient management Perform comprehensive medical assessments and urgent care procedures Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions when required Communicate treatment options and recommendations clearly with clients Educate pet owners regarding emergency care and ongoing treatment needs Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation Prescribe medications while following pharmacy and controlled substance protocols Collaborate closely with emergency clinicians, specialists, technicians, and support staff Promote teamwork and efficient patient care processes Monitor hospitalised patients and participate in case reviews and rounds Support clinical protocols and quality standards throughout the hospital Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and practice improvements Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution Active Arkansas veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one DEA registration or ability to obtain and maintain registration Minimum 1 year of emergency veterinary experience preferred Strong emergency medicine, diagnostic, and clinical skills Confidence managing complex and critical cases Excellent surgical abilities and patient care judgement Strong communication and client relationship skills Ability to work effectively within a collaborative veterinary team Commitment to compassionate, high-quality emergency medicine Veterinarians with a passion for emergency care and a desire to work alongside experienced specialists are encouraged to apply.
